Goal Setting - How To Get Started
61First things first!
The best way to get started with setting your own goals is to think of what you really want or what you would really like to obtain. If your setting a goal for a large group like a fund raiser to raise a certain amount of cash by a certain date. Here is one way to get it started!
Make a check off list
Make a list of all things that you will to need for your goal within a specific timeline.
- Set goal date
- Inventory all your resources
- Recruit help for making phone calls and passing out flyer's
- Sign up sheet
- Products to sell
- Chinese auction donations
- Who will handle all the cash donations
- Make sure that every area has a Person in charge and workers underneath them
- Print up flyer's
- Run a newspaper ad
Pull it all together
Hold a meeting, make a lists of all the suggestions. Inventory all your resources, make sure that you do not buy anything that you already have at your disposal.
Set a goal date.
Have everyone sign up for a job or assign everyone a job. Make sure that everyone is completely informed before the leave, they know their job assignments and what all is expected of them.
First thing you want to do is set up overseers of each group The will be acting like captains of each area.
- One of the Volunteers will be in charge of public relations. They will put together the Flyer's and Newspaper add with the: Event, what it is for, how much is to be raised, the start and end times, cash donation will be excepted, asking for more volunteers and or donations. Making sure that all advertising is done in a timely matter. And all the volunteers under them have all their flyer's to pass out early enough.
- Another volunteer will be charge of overseeing the Chinese Auction. They will be contacting all the local Businesses and setting up a appointment time for items to be either picked up or dropped off. Then making sure that the volunteers under them are able to make the pick ups in a timely manner. overseeing all the workers on the day of the auction. Having some runners in place.
- One of the Volunteers will be in charge of refreshments. What will be sold, the prices, shopping, preparing the food with the help of other volunteers. Will also assign some of the volunteers under them to help with shopping and the set up and maybe sales. One will have to make a few signs with all the prices on it.
- One of the volunteers will be acting as the treasurer, overseeing the spending and collecting all money and make the deposits. Will also have volunteers under them for ticket sales, food sales, collect cash donations.
On the day of the fund raiser make sure that you have all your Aces in their places! It should be a huge success!
